The Stillwater Rod and Gun Club is composed
of sportsmen with diverse interests that include:
Our club is set in the foothills of the Adirondacks, the
largest wilderness preserve in the continental United States, and home to the High Peaks Region.
The Club grounds directly border the beautiful Hudson River,
home to a growing population of the bald eagles.
We are located across the river from the site of the historic
Revolutionary War Battle of Saratoga, in 1777, which is now a wonderful National Park
While new members are welcome, most of our membership hails from the distinctly rural
towns of Stillwater, Mechanicville and the surrounding areas.
The club boasts over 100 acres of woods and fields for the avid sportsman.
Development
of our property has been managed to preserve its natural beauty and our rural heritage. Some of these developments include:
*heated shooting range
*tasteful picnic pavilions
*archery area
and convenient out buildings
The History of the SRGC
Founded in 1951 by the members listed above, who had the foresight and vision to make
the club a reality.
